Alien Weaponry Release New Song Featuring Lamb Of God’s Randy Blythe
Alien Weaponry have unveiled their new single “Taniwha” featuring Lamb of God singer Randy Blythe.
The third and final single from their forthcoming album, Te Rā, is one of the band’s “most aggressive, death-metal leaning offerings,” according to a press release. The song follows Taniwha, a protective supernatural creature from Māori mythology that unleashes its wrath as payback for “savage crimes” against the Māori people.
“Lamb of God played a significant role in making Alien Weaponry what it is today and this collaboration with Randy Blythe feels like one of those ‘pinch yourself’ moments that our teenage selves would never believe possible,” the band said in a statement. “Randy’s lyricism and vocal expertise was an amazing addition to this song and we are beyond stoked to share this song/milestone with the world.”

This isn’t the first time the Blythe and the New Zealand trio have worked together. Blythe also appeared in the band’s documentary, Alien Weaponry: Kua Tupu Te Ara, that premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival last year.
Alien Weaponry’s new album, Te Rā comes out Friday, March 28th. Pre-order a copy here.
