Bauhaus Announce ‘The Bela Session’ To Celebrate Their 40th Anniversary
Seminal post-punk band Bauhaus celebrates their 40th anniversary this year. To commemorate the event, they will reissue their goth classic “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” in November on The Bela Session.
This release features five tracks from their January 26th, 1979 recording session and includes three unreleased songs: “Some Faces,” “Bite My Hip,” and the original recording of “Boys.” It also includes the full nine-minute recording of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” making it the first time it’s been pressed on vinyl in over 30 years. Check out the tracklisting below and listen to the newly remastered “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” here.
The Bela Session drops November 23 via Leaving Records and Stones Throw Records on digital and vinyl formats. Pre-order your copy here. There will also be a special red vinyl version available exclusively through Vinyl Me, Please‘s member store.
In addition to this, Beggars Arkvie revealed plans to reissue Bauhaus’ entire catalog on colored vinyl later this year.
