Listen To Joan Jett And The Blackhearts’ New Single ‘Fresh Start’

The iconic Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have just released their new single “Fresh Start” taken from the soundtrack of the upcoming documentary Bad Reputation. Recorded exclusively for the upcoming film, the track premiered over at Entertainment Weekly and deals with getting older in the world of rock n roll.

“Sometimes you need to say to yourself, ‘Am I still enjoying what I’m doing? I need to find the fire again,’” Jett tells EW about the song. “Part of it was just thinking about rock in general. It’s always been a young person’s game, writing about sex, love and partying. As rock and rollers get older, what do they write about? I’m not sure there’s an answer, but we’re looking for it.”

Check out the song below.

The Jett documentary Bad Reputation will be released in theaters and on demand September 28. The soundtrack album will drop the same day and features live and studio performances from The Blackhearts. It also includes tracks featuring The Runaways, Bikini Kill, members of The Sex Pistols, and the unreleased song “Androgynous” performed by Miley Cyrus, Against Me!’s Laura Jane Grace, and Joan Jett.
