Billie Joe Armstrong Shares ‘I Think We’re Alone Now Cover’: Listen

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong may be stuck at home like the rest of us, but he’s still finding a way to make music. Yesterday (Mar. 23) the frontman shared his cover of the Tommy James and the Shondells song “I Think We’re Alone Now” recorded in his bedroom.

“While we’ve all been in quarantine I’ve been reflecting on the things that matter the most in my life. Family, friends and of course music,” Armstrong wrote on Instagram. “I figure if we have to spend this time in isolation at least we can be alone together.”

He also shared the song’s accompanying video featuring vintage photographs of Green Day throughout the years along with Armstrong writing out the song’s lyrics using coffee beans, cereal, and other pantry goods. Watch the video below.

Green Day’s Asian tour was slated to start this month, but they canceled due to the coronavirus. Their North American Hella Mega tour featuring The Interrupters, Weezer, and Fall Out Boy is set to start in May. Find all their dates here.
