Foo Fighters Announce 25th Anniversary Tour

The Foo Fighters are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a special tour.

The 10-city trek dubbed the 2020 Van tour in honor of the Dodge van the band used on the road back in 1995, will see the band revisiting cities they played on their first tour in 1995. Additional shows may be announced later as the band teased shows in smaller venues in a press release:

“[A]side from many of those clubs on that 1995 trek having since ceased to exist, squeezing a 2020 FF show into the few that are still around would just be too insane… or would it? Stay tuned for the answer to that question.”

Each show will also include a sneak preview at Dave Grohl’s new documentary, What Drives Us. The film hopes to answer the question of “what possesses a particular tribe of human beings to leave behind jobs, families, relationships and any semblance of sanity to climb into a busted ass econoline and take their music to the people — or at least a dozen or so of them here and there.”

The tour kicks off April 12th in Phoenix, Arizona and wraps up May 20th in Hamilton, Ontario. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 21st. Those who sign up for the Foo Fighters fan club can take part in a pre-sale launching today at noon ET.
