Last year, Adult Swim announced it greenlit an original film for Metalocalypse, but little has been heard about the project since. Luckily, Gene Hoglan, formerly of Testament gave some updates during a recent interview.
During a Cameo interview conducted by Sobre La Dosis podcast host Jonathan Montenegro, Hoglan revealed what he’s been working on since leaving Testament and talked about his involvement with future Dethklok releases.
“One of the larger projects that’s coming up really directly as well is Dethklok is working on a movie,” said the drummer. “So that’s gonna entail some definite intent from me. You know, I’m deeply involved in that, so we’re working on the next album, the soundtrack – well the movie doesn’t quite have a soundtrack to it – but we’re gonna have the movie, we’re gonna have the album for Dethklok, and I would imagine some touring as well.”
During the interview, Hoglan also revealed he’s been writing a new Dark Angel album and is preparing for a show with the group along with working on a new project with his wife Laura Christine.
“That’s the most metallic thing I’m doing. My drums are just insane,” adding how proud he is of that project. Watch the full interview below.
As for Dethklok, their last album, Dethalbum III, was released in 2012. Fingers crossed that we hear more from the animated metalheads soon.
