Green Day Pay Homage To Cult Classic ‘They Live’ In New ‘Back In The USA’ Video

Green Day has released a new video and it’s awesome! The band pays homage to the John Carpenter cult classic They Live in their new clip for “Back In the USA.” The video finds Mike, Tre, and Billie living in a black and white all American world similar to that found on Leave it to Beaver. Billie buys a pair of shades that not only look cool but expose the lies, corruption, and evil in the world. In order to spread truth, Green Day performs on TV, which bleeds color into the world – a nod to the film Pleasantville. Check out the video below.

“Back In the USA” is taken from the band’s newly released compilation album, God’s Favorite Band. The record collects 20 of the band’s biggest hits, like “Welcome to Paradise,” “Basketcase,” and “American Idiot.” Along with this new track, it features a new version of Revolution Radio‘s “Ordinary World” featuring Miranda Lambert.

God’s Favorite Band is out now.
