Members Of Ramones, Green Day, The Sex Pistols And More Announced For Joey Ramone Virtual Birthday Bash
Today marks the 69th birthday of punk rock icon Joey Ramone. To celebrate, the annual “Birthday Bash” tribute in his honor is being turned into a virtual event.
The “Joey Ramone Virtual Birthday Bash” starts tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on the official Facebook page of the late punk rocker. The event will include performances from former Ramones members CJ Ramone and Richie Ramone, Sex Pistols bassist Glen Matlock, Dictators bassist Andy Shernoff, David Bowie guitarist Earl Slick, and more. Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong was also added to the bill and will debut his reworked version of the Ramones’ “I Wanna Sniff Some Glue” dubbed “I Wanna Drink Some Bleach.”
Also scheduled to appear are Blondie’s Clem Burke, Cheap Trick’s Bun E. Carlos, D Generation’s Jesse Malin, Talking Heads’ Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz, Living Colour’s Vernon Reid, Patti Smith Group’s Lenny Kaye, and more.
