Mike Shinoda Announces ‘Dropped Frames, Vol. 3,’ Shares New Track ‘License To Waltz’

Mike Shinoda has announced the third installment of his Dropped Frames series is coming September 18th.

Ahead of the album’s release, Shinoda has shared the new track “License to Waltz,” which includes 8-bit sounds that sound like they were ripped from a Super Nintendo game.

Listen to the track below.

Dropped Frames, Vol. 2 was released back in July.

Shinoda has spent the majority of quarantine collaborating with fans on his Twitch livestreams by taking their suggestions and recording the songs. Speaking about the concept behind the project, he said “Dropped Frames is just as much about the live channel as it is about the ‘album’. The collection of songs is a highlight reel of the tracks I make on the channel, but a big part of the experience is the stream itself.

“When I start, I usually have very little idea of where it will go. What comes out is a product of the viewers’ suggestions, my spur-of-the-moment ideas, and whatever inexplicable magic is floating in between.”
