Royal Blood Share New Collins Hanks Directed Video For ‘Hold On’

Royal Blood have shared their new music video for “Hold On” directed by Collin Hanks, son of everyone’s favorite actor, Tom Hanks.

Colin Hanks stars in the clip as Roy Boulders, a motivational speaker who uses the song’s uplifting message in his latest sermon. While the crowd is captivated, there are two nonbelievers unimpressed with the speech: Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme and Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders.

Frontman Mike Kerr spoke about the song in a track-by-track with NME: “I think it was the first time I had written a song for someone else, who was going through a really difficult time. Like most of our songs, it started with the main riff, and I think it was the first time I’ve stumbled across a riff that felt positive and really euphoric. I don’t think we have anything else like that. The message is about being there for someone and letting them know that they’re not alone.”

In support of their new album, Typhoons, Royal Blood will embark on their biggest European tour to date in March 2022 before they return to the U.K. for a run of arena dates. Check out all their dates here.
