Hear YONAKA’s Bold New Single ‘Ordinary’

YONAKA have released their new single “Ordinary.”

Self-produced by the band, the song is about figuring out what you want out of life and going for it. The soft, gentle keys lead to an explosive hook that finds frontwoman Theresa Jarvis asking “Is this what you want?/Is this what you came for?” Just when you think you know where the song is going, it hits you with intense electronic-inspired synth proving the band defies genre expectations.

“When you listen to this song I want you to be completely honest with yourself and ask if this is where you are meant to be; are you being yourself or are you scared?” says Jarvis.

“Are you living for someone else and forgetting yourself? Are you watching life go by like watching the t.v screen? Do you want to wake up old and wonder what you did with your life? This is your time to jump. Don’t let life pass you by. Make mistakes, cry, laugh, love. Do it for you. Shine in yourself and be happy to be anything but ordinary.”

“Ordinary” follows previously released single “Seize the Power.”

YONAKA is scheduled to play Catfish and the Bottlemen’s UK Swansea show in Singleton Park alongside special guests You Me At Six and Feeder on September 4th. Find tickets here.
