Chromatics Announce New Album ‘Closer To Grey’

Chromatics have announced their first new album in seven years.

Dubbed Closer to Grey, the new record will be available to stream starting midnight tonight, October 2nd. It features 11 new songs in addition to the title track, which the band’s Johnny Jewel shared back in 2014. See the tracklist and album art below.

Back in 2014, the band announced the album Dear Tommy, which was supposed to be released that same year. Between 2015 and 2018, the band would share singles slated to appear on the album. The album was delayed once again in May 2017 when  Johnny Jewel’s then-manager Alexis Rivera claimed that Jewel destroyed all the physical copies of the album after a near-death experience. Rivera also said that Jewel re-recorded the project. Chromatics later stated that Dear Tommy would arrive in fall 2018.

Closer to Grey is being billed as Chromatics’ seventh studio album. Kill for Love was the band’s fifth record, so Dear Tommy may still see a release in the future. Earlier this year, the band shared their cover of Hole’s “Petals” for the Netflix horror film The Perfection.

Chromatics are currently on their European tour. Find all their upcoming dates here.
