David Bowie continues to rock on: over 5 million records sold since his passing
According to newly published data of the Official Charts Company, David Bowie continues to rock on even after his passing two years ago. Since Jan. 10, 2016, fans have passionately bought over five million of his recordings, of which more than 2 million units of his albums and over 3.1 millions units of his singles. These recordings include UK’s physical sales, digital downloads and stream-equivalent sales across the period, as OCC reveals.
Blackstar – Bowie’s 25th and final studio – turns out to be Bowie’s most popular album in the U.K. The album has been sold 446,000 times across all formats. With 397,000 combined sales, the 1977 single Heroes is the most popular single.
