Green Day Premiere New Song ‘1981’ At Qubec Festival

It’s been three years since Green Day started teasing what many believe to be their next album, but so far nothing concrete has been revealed. But this past Sunday (July 16) Green Day premiered a brand new song that may hint that more new music is on the way.

During their set at Festival D’été de Québec, the band debuted their new song entitled “1981.” Savvy Green Day fans quickly figured out that the song was featured in one of the 1972 teasers posted by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong back in 2022. Hopefully, an official release is just around the corner.

For now, you can check out fan footage of the new song below.

Elsewhere in the set, Green Day treated fans to oldies “The Grouch” from 1997’s Nimrod and “Stuart and the Ave.” from 1995’s Insomniac. The rest of their setlist was filled with usual suspects like “American Idiot,” “Wake Me Up When September Ends,” “Welcome to Paradise,” and “Basket Case.”

Green Day are set to appear at Louder the Life in September and When We Were Young in October.
