Lana Del Rey Reveals New Album Featuring ‘American Standards And Classics’
In between getting dinner at Denny’s and checking election results, Lana Del Rey announced her next album featuring “American standards and classics” for a Christmas release.
The singer dropped the news on Instagram live while getting updates on the election last night (Nov. 3rd). She didn’t give many details about the album, but said: “I have some Patsy Cline songs I’ve been wanting to cover for a really long time, a couple of really cool Americana songs with [country singer-songwriter] Nikki Lane that I’ve just kind of had in my back pocket.”
She also talked about the delay of her next album Chemtrails Over the Country Club. She assured fans the album was finished and described it as “folk” and “super different from Norman.” Originally, Del Rey planned to release the album in September, but chances are it won’t arrive until spring due to a “16-week delay on the vinyl process.” “Because I can’t get the record plants to open until March 5th,” she added. “That probably goes for a lot of people out there.”
Recently, Lana Del Rey shared the lead single “Let Me Move You Like A Woman,” from her upcoming album, Chemtrails over the Country Club. She posted a homemade video for the song on Instagram.
