The Cure To Curate Los Angeles Festival Later This Year

The Cure’s Robert Smith has revealed plans to curate a festival in Los Angeles later this year. Smith revealed his plans during an interview with SiriusXM (via Slicing Up Eyeballs) saying it would be similar to his curated festival at London’s Hyde Park last year.

“We’ll be announcing another one later this month, which will be a really special one, actually, because we’re curating it,” Smith explained. “So it’s going to be on the West Coast. There’s going to be about 10 other acts, all hand-picked.”

Later in the interview, Smith also revealed there are currently no plans for Disintegration shows in the US.

“I don’t really want to dedicate the rest of the year to celebrating something that happened 30 years ago,” Smith told SiriusXM. “I’d much rather celebrate what we’re doing now.”

Instead, fans worldwide can livestream the May 30th Disintegration performance in Australia on Facebook and Youtube.

Finally, he spoke about The Cure’s upcoming album saying it should be out before Christmas.
