The Strokes Announce ‘The New Abnormal’ Their First Album In 7 Years

The Strokes have announced their new album, The New Abnormal, out April 10th via Cult/RCA Records.

The long-awaited follow up to 2013’s Comedown Machine was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu and produced by Rick Rubin, according to a press release. The album’s artwork is a painting by Jean-Michel Basquiat called “Bird on Money.” Check it out below.

They’ve also shared the new single “At The Door,” which comes with an animated music video from writer/director Mike Burakoff. It shows a space battle created by a young boy looking to escape his own bleak reality. Watch it below.

The Strokes will embark on a North American tour with King Princess and Alvvays starting next month. They’ve also added several festival appearances to their itinerary, including Lollapalooza Brasil, Best Kept Secret Festival, and NOS Alive Festival. Check out all their dates here.
