Siouxsie Sioux and Iggy Pop have recorded a new version of Pop’s 1977 hit “The Passenger” for a new advertisement for Magnum ice cream.

Arranged by composer Sarah deCourcy, the song was released earlier for Magnum ice cream’s “Pleasure Express” campaign. It also marks Sioux’s first new recording since her 2015 single “Love Crime.” “I love this song, and I’ve always loved Iggy’s voice,” Sioux said of the duet. “I adore how instinctive and spontaneous it all feels and to hear my voice with Iggy’s is such a dream.”

Pop expressed his gratitude saying “Siouxsie can sing like a bird. I’ve always thought she was a great lady. Her [1987] version of the song was already special, but what happened here, singing together, is really unique. Like ‘Volare,’ the orchestral treatment and marriage of voices flies free, in a spirit of joy.”

The song hasn’t hit streaming yet, but you can watch the Magnum ice cream ads below.

Former FEVER 333 members launch new band, House Of Protection

Aric Improta and Stephen Harrison, former members of FEVER 333, are back with a new band, House of Protection. “We wanted to build something that protected our creativity and ideas as well as the people that come to the shows,” they say of the name.

The pair have dropped their debut single “It’s Supposed to Hurt,” which features former Bring Me the Horizon keyboardist Jordan Fish on Production.

“Some of the vocals were from our initial improvisations,” the pair explain. “When we started this, we had no idea how we would sound or where we wanted to take it. Neither of us had sung before, we just knew the energy we wanted to create sonically and that we’d put in whatever time it took to get it to feel right. Fortunately, this song answered a lot of those questions instantly.”
