Biffy Clyro Share Cover Of Metallica’s ‘Holier Than Thou’

Biffy Clyro have shared their rousing cover of Metallica’s “Holier Than Thou” from the upcoming album, The Metallica Blacklist.

It has all the bite and heaviness of the original mixed with Biffy Clyro’s larger-than-life, dramatic flair. Just when you think the song is a straightforward cover, the band spices it up with synths, Queen-esque harmonies, and dancing keys creating this ethereal experience.

The Metallica Blacklist features covers of tracks from the band’s iconic “Black Album” from over 50 artists including,  Elton John, Depeche Mode‘s Dave Gahan, Miley Cyrus, J Balvin, St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Darius Rucker, Slipknot’s Corey Taylor, My Morning Jacket, WeezerPUPCage the Elephant, Kamasi Washington, Portugal. the Man, IDLESRoyal Blood, and Moses Sumney to name a few.

“With contributions from countries all over the globe from the U.S. to Nigeria, there are tracks from singer-songwriters, country artists, electronic, and hip-hop artists alongside punk rockers, indie darlings, icons of rock, metal, world music, and many, many more covering the entire spectrum from musicians we’ve shared the stage with, to some who were not even born yet when the original album was released!” says the band.

All proceeds from sales will be donated to charities selected by featured artists, including Metallica’s own All Within My Hands FoundationThe Metallica Blacklist is available to pre-order in various formats.
