Evanescence Shares New Single ‘Use My Voice:’ Listen

Evanescence have shared the third single from their upcoming album, The Bitter Truth. The new song, “Use My Voice” sees frontwoman Amy Lee teaming up with Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen, and Within Temptation’s Sharon Den Adel among others.

Lee spoke about the single saying “This is an era of awakening, and full of powerful beauty. I hope to inspire others to seek truth, find their own voices and use them as I step up to use mine. Don’t let anybody speak for you. Only you can do that.”

Along with the previously mentioned artists, the song also features violinist Lindsey Stirling, Veridia singer Deena Jakoub (who co-wrote the song), Amy Lee’s sisters Carrie South and Lori Lee Bulloch, and Evanescence guitarist Troy McLawhorn’s wife Amy McLawhorn.

Evanescence has also teamed up with non-partisan, non-profit voter registration organization HeadCount for the “Use My Voice” PSA to encourage people to register to vote.

“This year is going to be more complicated than normal because of Covid,” Lee told Rolling Stone. “Every state has different rules for registering and voting, and things will be different because of the pandemic. It doesn’t have to be overwhelming. UseMyVoice.org is a neatly organized place where you can easily find out how to vote safely in your state, when to get your absentee ballot sent in by, even who the candidates are and a little about them. Our hope is to empower people with this information.”

Evanescence’s new album, The Bitter Truth, doesn’t have a release date but is being released incrementally throughout the year. Previously released song include “Wasted On You” and “The Game is Over.”
