When the wind’s against you
Remember this insight
That’s the optimal condition
For birds to take flight
Now the wind’s against you
Don’t give up the fight.

Airfield by Enter Shikari

Besides creating incredibly good music for over a decade now, Enter Shikari are known as advocates for unity, equality, community and solidarity thus creating a safe headspace for their young fanbase. This is so important in a time where social anxiety, political instability and attacks to equal rights are adding to the challenges our mind has to take on each day.
450 Million people all around the world currently live with mental illnesses such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, addictions, etc. In 2015 over 780,000 (estimated) people died by suicide. We think it’s about time to punch this motherfucker in the shins by launching a big Enter Shikari-themed charity auction for mental health awareness!

All proceeds will benefit the Brain & Behavior Research Foundation who is working on alleviating the suffering caused by mental illness by awarding grants that will lead to advances and breakthroughs in scientific research. Their aim is to better understand the causes and develop new ways to treat brain and behavior disorders.

Since Enter Shikari are huge supporters of progress by science and the mental health sector has been subjected to severe cuts these past years, the BBR Foundation is the perfect fit for our charity auction. Here are some short facts about BBRF:

  • 100% of the contributions for research are invested in science.
  • More than 4,500 scientists in more than 547 institutions around the world have been awarded grants by the BBRF.
  • The BBRF encourages new and innovative research, they support new ideas from bottom up generated by scientists and have contributed to several important breakthroughs.
