Green Day Premiere New Video ‘Oh Yeah:’ Watch

Green Day have released their new single “Oh Yeah!” from their upcoming album, Father of All Motherfuckers, out February 7th.

The song features a sample from Joan Jett’s “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)” and shows the band experimenting with a more glam oriented sound with a bit of pop gloss.

Since “Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)”  was originally written by convicted pedophile Gary Glitter, the band plans to donate their royalties to charity.

“One of the writers on that song is a total asshole so we’re donating our royalties from this song to IJM and RAINN,” they wrote.

They also released the music video directed by Malia James. The clip focuses on a phone-obsessed society with everyone staring at their phones ignoring their surroundings, while others are dead set on getting their 15-minutes of fame. Even members of the band are guilty of it. Mike Dirnt plays a security guard slacking on the job while Tre plays a news anchor more concerned with his image. As for Billie Joe? He gets hit by a driver not paying attention to the road.

Green Day will embark on The Hella Mega Tour with Fall Out Boy and Weezer later this year. Check out their dates here.
