Madonna Postpones Tour Due To ‘Serious Bacterial Infection’

Madonna has postponed her “The Celebration Tour” due to a “serious bacterial infection” that put her in the ICU last weekend.

Her longtime manager Guy Oseary broke the news on Wednesday (June 28) saying:

“On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which [led] to a several day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however, she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected. At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

According to Page Six, the singer was rushed to a New Yoirk City hospital after she was found unresponsive on Saturday. PEOPLE reports she is now out of the ICU and is back home and “feeling better.”

Madonna’s massive 2023 tour was slated to kick off on July 15th in Vancouver. Recently, she teamed up with Sam Smith for the new song “Vulgar.”
