Refused Announce ‘The Malignant Fire’ EP, Share New Song ‘Born On The Outs’

Refused have announced their new EP, The Malignant Fire, out November 20th. Ahead of its release, they’ve shared the new song “Born On the Outs.”

With a post-punk groove reminiscent of frontman Dennis Lyxzén’s project INVSN, “Born On the Outs” steadily builds up, getting more intense and aggressive with everything exploding as Lyxzén screams “I carve my name in hate!” Listen to the song below.

Refused will appear in the upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077 as the fictional band Samuari. They recorded several songs for the game, including the previously released “Chippin’ In,” “Never Fade Away,” and “The Ballad of Buck Ravers.”

Cyberpunk 2077 comes out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 19th. Earlier this year Refused frontman Dennis Lyxzén formed the supergroup Fake Names with members of Bad Religion, S.O.A., and Girls Against Boys. Their self-titled debut album came out in May.
