Watch: Green Day premiere ‘Revolution Radio’ music video on Twitch.tv

Live-streaming platform Twitch took a break from its non-stop E3 gaming coverage to premiere Green Day’s new music video for “Revolution Radio.” Directed by Green Day and filmed by photographer Greg Schnider, the video shows Billie, Mike, and Tre performing in their old haunt 924 Gilman Street while a 360-degree camera zooms around them. This is spliced with vintage footage of one the band’s older Gilman shows. It’s a simple, straightforward performance video that fits the style of their upcoming documentary, Turn It Around: The Story of East Bay Punk. Check out the video below.

Speaking about the decision to premiere Green Day’s video on Twitch, Mary Kish, Senior Producer at Twitch Studios said “The Twitch community is passionate about a lot of emerging content beyond gaming, with music being one of the areas they’ve rallied around. Because our community thrives off the shared viewing experience, being able to live stream world premiere videos, including Green Day’s “Revolution Radio,” is going to add an engaging twist to the event.”

Green Day are currently touring Europe in support of their latest album Revolution Radio. They’ll be back in the States August 1 in Auburn, WA. Find the complete dates here.
