BABYMETAL Announce New Band Member MOMOMETAL

BABYMETAL are no longer a duo. Founding members SU-METAL and MOAMETAL have welcomed backup dancer Momoko Okazaki into the fold, now to be known as MOMOMETAL.

Okazaki has been performing live shows with the band since 2019 as part of a rotating cast of backup dancers in the wake of YUIMETAL’s departure in 2018. Over the weekend, she was named as the third member of the band as they played a pair of “BABYMETAL BEGINS” shows in Yokohama, Japan.

Prior to joining the band, Okazaki was a member for Japanese idol girl group Sakura Gakuin. She also appeared on the South Korean reality show Girls Planet 999.

BABYMETAL recently released their new album THE OTHER ONE. Later this month, the band will join Sabaton on their UK/European tour. They’ll also perform at Louder Than Life, Blue Ridge Rock, Aftershock later in the year.
