Beastie Boys Release Trailer For Upcoming Spike Jonze Documentary

The Beastie Boys have shared the first teaser trailer for their upcoming documentary, Beastie Boys Story.

Directed by Spike Jonze and co-written with Mike D and Ad-Rock, the film is a live extension of their 2018 Beastie Boys Book, a memoir that honored Adam Yauch, who died in 2012. The teaser features archival footage of the band along with live footage taken from Ad-Rock and Mike D’s recent show at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn.

“There are some friends you have lunch with so many times over the years, you know their order,” the group recently said in a statement. “Spike is one of those friends. And even when you don’t recognize anything on the menu, he comes up with something good for the whole table. Like when we wondered what to do when our book comes out … then Spike placed his order: ‘You will put on a show for the children.’ “

Check out the teaser below.

Beastie Boys Story will debut on IMAX on April 3rd followed by a global release on Apple TV+ on April 24th.
