Reading & Leeds Confirm 2021 Festivals Are Happening

Following news that live events in England could resume this summer, Reading and Leeds festival organizers have confirmed the events will go ahead this year.

They posted the news on Twitter saying “Following the government’s recent announcement, we can’t wait to get back to the fields this summer. LET’S GO.”

This year’s festival features six headliners across two stages. Headliners include Queens of the Stone Age, marking their first live performance in three years, Post Malone, Stormzy, Catfish & The Bottlemen, Disclosure, and planned 2020 headliner Liam Gallagher will play what’s been dubbed Main Stage East and Main Stage West next year.

Also appearing on the bill are FEVER 333, AJ Tracey, Ashnikko, Beebadobee, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Madison Beer, MK, Lyra, Sofi Tukker, Two Door Cinema Club and 100 Gecs. More acts will be announced at a later date. The festival is set to take place in its traditional August Bank Holiday weekend slot, which this year falls between the 27th and 29th of August.

Live music for 2021 is still murky. Some festivals, like Glastonbury, aren’t taking the chance and have canceled outright. Others, like Slam Dunk, remain hopeful and have postponed events to later this year.
