Stormzy Funds Black Students With Cambridge Scholarship

With only 25 years of age, Stormy is setting an example for many others to follow. This year, he will be funding two black students to enable them to go to the University of Cambridge. Not only will the Stormzy Scholarship pay for tuition fees, but it also provides a maintenance grant for up to four years of an undergraduate course. Another two students will be funded in 2019.

Stormzy explains that he couldn’t attend university for himself, “so hopefully there’s another young black student out there that can have that opportunity through my scholarship.” Stormzy isn’t the only celebrity providing scholarships. Last year, Nicky Minaj spontaneously paid off loans, school expenses and summer classes of a few students and set up a “Student of the Game” scholarship.

We sincerely hope this trend of celebrities enabling students to attend universities and pursue their dreams will be one that will last long.
